Great climbing Gym with a ton of routes. Grading was a little hard. Got there around 5 on a Wednesday and there was ample space to climb. By 7 it was crowded. Ropes area was still spread out though. Roof terrace with hammocks is awesome and something I haven't seen at a gym before. I'm traveling and tend to visit a lot of climbing gyms, this is one of my favorites (and the first time I've seen a $34 day pass)

I was in town for business from Portland, OR. I am a member of Movement, which literally just bought out The Cliffs. I was excited to see the facility and new family. Everything went smoothly during check in and the staff was excellent. The gym is clean, modern, and over above many of the gyms I pop into while traveling. The hype in the 2nd floor bouldering room was high. Routes were set perfect, mats were clean and not ripped. I went 2 days and dreamed about some of the routes. Definitely worth the visit! I will be back! Thanks for the support guys!!!

Bouldering for the first time and it was amazing. Staff were friendly and it was a weekend but everyone was super polite so I was able to climb a lot! Really sore but really fun. Will be coming again I attended the national climbing day so it was a little more packed but it was a blast, even met an old friend there

This place is the Disneyland of climbing gyms. Each floor of this new dog-friendly facility is jaw dropping. Two full floors of bouldering, one full floor of top roping, a mega locker room with showers, towels, and sauna, a store with a great variety of climbing gear, an indoor bike room, a separate top roping room for classes and private events, an outdoor space on the top floor to just hang, weight lifting and cardio equipment, a yoga studio, a treadwall for continuous climbing, fingerboard exercise area, and light up wall for mix-and-match bouldering climbs. This place is absolutely incredible! For a $32 day pass (which other less new and decked out climbing gyms - *ahem* BKB - also charge), this place is well worth it and I highly recommend checking it out.

I love this gym and think it's the best in NYC. I've climbed at almost every gym in NYC (need to revisit Central Rock), have been a member at both Brooklyn Boulders and Vital, and have to say that the culture that's being created here is pretty awesome. Fun events, cool meet ups, amateur competitions, cool clinics (route setting clinic was great) find a belay partner nights, climbing league, etc. They've put in some desks - so now there is a tiny co-working area, which for me was a major issue that's now been resolved. Good music, sizeable and modern locker rooms (but bring your own lock), and always clean. The only con is that evenings at the gym can get really crowded and etiquette can go out the window - but that's all climbing gyms. Small gear shop but a good selection. Bike parking is ample - cars not so much. Sport Climbing: Great, fun, and creative route setting. They do a good job introducing a variety of holds and movement patterns at all grade levels which makes progressing to the next grade easier. The routes are reset regularly - about every 6 weeks so there's always a bunch of new stuff to try. Bouldering: Good variety of problems spread out over two floors. Creative, fun setting, and "spotlight" problems. They once did a cool dyno workshop area. The setters seem to really enjoy themselves and each other which is nice to see. Also has a system board training area. Fitness/Yoga: Small but adequate. Some pretty good yoga classes but wish that there was at least one afternoon class once or twice a week.

This place is amazing. First time me and my wife got into climbing. This facility is CLEAN. And it’s 3 floors of usable space. 1st floor has front desk, climb shop, bouldering, top rope training room and two couches for people to relax on. A few steps up but considered the same floor is the mens and women’s lockers, with showers and sauna. Second usable floor is bouldering, fitness center, yoga studio, kilter boards. There are also restrooms here. Third usable floor is top rope, lead rope, a outdoor balcony with a beautiful view but really only usable during warmer weather but it is open all year it seems. Another two restrooms are here. Staff here are friendly and kind. Jess who trained me and my wife to top rope for the first time ever really helped us. She was enthusiastic and super patient and friendly teaching us, it made us feel comfortable despite being nervous. I spoke with the manager Harrison as well, who made certain accommodations due to a disability I have. I was nervous to approach him but he was super discreet and very understanding. The only bad thing about this gym is that I don’t live closer. Love this place. Already taking my niece and family members here who are non-climbers. Because obviously I’m a “cool” climber now. They also allow dogs, so we bring our girl here. It’s awesome to see other dogs in the facility. One thing I wish they had is a spot indoors to sit down and eat, they have picnic table outside but it’s too cold outside currently.

Great place to climb, pretty pricey though. The climbing routes are fun and you get a great workout in. The amenities included are also appreciated. I wish they'd open more climbing gyms in Brooklyn.

Fun lead routes. Nice training boards. Only note: make sure you call ahead and let them know if you want to take a lead test. They advertise on their website that no reservation is needed (they don't accept reservations), but we drove 1.5 hours to the gym just to be told that they weren't offering lead belay tests that day. Otherwise been enjoying Cliffs Gowanus very much!
